Fox's Empire has just received a welcome addition in the form of additional episodes, and added musical production. R&B Superstar Ne-yo has been added to the fold, and will join Timbaland in providing the musical landscape for Season two of the hit television series which debuted earlier this year.
Season two will now include 18 episodes, much different from Season one's featuring 12 episodes. It was confirmed in a recent conference call by Chairman and CEO Dana Walden that the upcoming season will lead off with 9 episodes, only to end with a cliffhanger, and return for a Spring run of 9 more episodes. The series, created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, has been a huge success since its debut, and viewers are already clamoring for a new season to begin. Walden also hinted at new guest appearances for the show, while she didn't elaborate on who those guests were to include.
It was also confirmed in today's conference call that R&B superstar Ne-yo has signed on, and will join producer Timbaland in providing the musical landscape for the series.
Empire will return to its regular Wednesday line-up in the Fall.
