The history of the roots is rather extensive, and highly respected. Started in Philadelphia by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson and Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, the group has touched upon every territory of music and entertainment, and boasted a phenomenal lineup for nearly three decades. 

The Roots have been instrumental in the success of many artists not only from the Philadelphia area, but around the world. They made history, becoming the official house band for Jimmy Fallon, first on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and then again in 2014 when Fallon became the host of the Tonight Show.
