Yelawolf's 'Love Story' Debuts at #3 on Billboard 200....
SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 29, 2015 -- Love Story -- The second full-length major-label album from Yelawolf, enters the Billboard Top 200 album chart today at No. 3 and also debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard R&b/Hip-hop albums chart. Released April 21st by Slumerican/Shady Records/Interscope, Love Story earns the Alabama-born rapper his highest album chart position and best-selling album to date, with over 58,000 units sold in its first week. Yelawolf's previous album, 2011's Radioactive, debuted at No. 27 on the same chart.
Love Story has also earned Yelawolf a host of positive reviews, including from Rolling Stone, which praised his "stronger embrace of his Southern roots" and "slow-burn ballads," and The Boston Globe, who note that "if you scratch his songs' surfaces, you hear a smart, sensitive outsider searching for some solace. Many of the 18 tracks have an undeniable emotional pull." Love Story was recorded largely at Nashville'sBlackbird Studio with executive producer Eminem and various other producers including Malay and Yelawolf's longtime collaborator WLPWR.
